[ ANNUAL POWER OF DREAMS FLY-IN ]

Annual Fly-In

Main   About   Airport   Fly-In

      Weather Brief   Pre-Registration

Come join us for the fourth annual Power of Dreams Fly-In. Weather permitting, we will do a Cross-Country Flight, with a breakfast similar to the ones we have done in past years. These cross-country flights have been a favorite activity for many of the pilots. This year, we are planning a special trip - weather permitting.

Where: Allen County Airport - Iola, KS

When: July 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th

For those non-pilots who are interested, Saturday, we are planning a small tour of Iola, starting with Hawk Studio and Gallery. Last year, Gary Hawk was gracious enough to give a watercolor demonstration.

Iola also has an excellent museum, Russell Stover's Candy Store, and many other attractions we would like for you to enjoy. In the evenings, we will be having dinner at a local restaurant

Hopefully, you will have a lot of fun, and everyone will gain useful information about flying.

A $40.00 entry fee covers the costs of T-shirt and the cook-out on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Additional Seminars

We have been fortunate enough to get the FAA to send a few people to give seminars on Sport Pilot. They are sending Larry Clymer, and Van Stumpner.
One seminar will cover the sport pilot program in general, one will cover sport pilot flight instructor duties and responsibilities, and the third will explain how to certify your light sport aircraft.
They will be giving all three seminars on both Friday and Saturday. Hopefully, they will also be available to answer questions on an individual basis.

At this time in the sport pilot evolution, I am certain that all of us have many questions and concerns. This will be an excellent opportunity to get some of these questions answered. We are both excited and proud that they will be coming, and we hope that everyone will make plans to attend the seminars.

Remember, we will be having a BFI refresher course on Thursday. This seminar will be taught by Ralph McClurg. Ralph will also be giving a safety talk, while Bob Hawk will be covering the "Do It Yourself Weather Brief". Times will be posted at the Fly-in for all the Friday and Saturday seminars. The BFI refresher course will be on Thursday only, and sounds exciting and informative for everyone. Hope to see you there!
