ALLEN COUNTY AIRPORT IOLA, KS The Allen County Airport is very friendly to the Powered Parachute community. As you can see in the picture above, the grass is always kept mowed, and we use the old, inactive runway for parking. Bill King ( Allen County Director of Public Works) and Mitch Garner (Airport Manager) do everything in their power to accommodate all types of aviation. Powered Parachute pilots wishing to fly out of this airport need only to follow a few simple rules. The twenty-plus PPC pilots that fly out of this airport on a regular basis invite you to come join us! If you wish to make a weekend out of flying, you are welcome to camp at the airport - and if the wind dies down, you are more than likely to be joined by several of the local pilots. You might recognize a few of the names listed on the roster - these are the Iola Flyers living within 20 miles of the airport. (Click the "contacts" link) Be sure to attend our "Fly-In" in July! |
